Question about file security?

Is there anyway to make an individual folder or file ''password'' secure on a windows xp system? And I'm not refering to going through a pass word when logging on to the computer.

Another free one = http://www.cypherix.com/cryptainerle/ind... = ''It allows you to password protect small folders up to 25mb in size. As you install it, it asks you to pick a password ,once installed create a new folder on the desktop and drag it into the box, once in there ,close the program and by theclock you get a small gold triangle, right click that to exit the exit completely.

StealthMode = Enter your password and drag and drop the folder onto the program icon to unlock/lock it. =
