While I was scanning for viruses using Norton's anti-virus, I got 'Tracking cookie' message and it warned me of a security threat. It was fixed. I have the following questions.
(1) What does the error mean?
(2) Shouldn't the anti-virus program have found the error and fixed it anyway prior to my scanning and finding about it?
Serious answers only please.
Computer Virus Question?free anti virus
Tracking Cookies aren't serious threats, they are ways sites basically see what sites your going to. I know that sounds scary, but in case of advertisements on websites, some display advertisements dynamically based on your movement.
As you noticed some advertisements are even specified to the country and city your in.
So your anti-virus program didn't think it was a serious issue to handle. That all I know from my friends.

Tracking cookie is harmless. It is put there on your computer via website to keep track of your preferences when you visited that site for advertisement or showing content of your interest etc.
